Tutorial
Three clicks, no code
Install, switch it on in the theme editor, save. Seven short steps, with what you see at each.
- 01
Install Segue
From the Shopify App Store, press Install. Shopify shows the plan first: Full access, $10 a month or $100 a year, with a 7-day free trial. Approve it and Segue’s page opens in your admin.
- 02
Open the theme editor
Press "Open the theme editor" on Segue’s page. The editor opens on App embeds with Segue switched on. Its panel has three steps: pick a look, your logo and words, colours. Save.
- 03
Click around your shop
Open the storefront and click any link: a product, a collection, the menu. A transition covers the page in your colours, the next page loads behind it, and it opens once the page is ready. Automatic, the default look, picks a move per click: a product photo flies into its page, a button grows, anything else gets Wave.
- 04
Pick a look
Back in the editor, change Style and the preview replays on the page. Every look has a Speed slider; "Show more options" opens its own settings (Emblem’s hold, Letters’ movement, Curve’s route) and a style per destination: home, product, collection, everything else.
- 05
Switch the preloader on
On Segue’s page press "Open the preloader in the theme editor". "Segue preloader" is switched on with the same three steps; Bloom, the default, already uses your logo and your shop’s name. Try the others and the Speed slider, then save.
- 06
See it on your shop
The preloader plays when a visit starts: opening the store from another site or a typed address, pressing Preview in the theme editor, or reloading a page. Clicking between pages does not replay it. In the editor it repeats, so changes show at once.

Good to know
Visitors who ask their device for reduced motion see neither. Cart, checkout and account pages are never covered. Uninstalling removes both embeds with the app; nothing in your theme’s code was ever edited.
